2003-07-17 :: you'll be so proud of me
I thought I was going to fail one of the compulsory subject today.. well I nearly did.
You want to know why? Well here I go..
We've finshed all our Spanish exams yesterday, so I thought I was going to take it easy from now on. There was this assignment that was due today, which I thought the dead line was at 5pm.
I was thinking "ok, sweet, well I'll just do whatever I wanna do in the morning, and going to uni at 3pm to hand the book in"
I was talking to my friend and I checked the deadline time just in case. And then, you know what? At 12:45am, I got a msg saying "It's at 2pm sonomi!"
It takes just under 60mins to get to my uni if there are no troubles. No train delays or anything.
I ran to the station, I ran at the station I ran from the station.
I haven't even finished my assignment when I received the msg. I had to take the notebook, pens and a dictionary and finishe it up on the train. Imagine trying looking up the dictionary and writing them down all nice and neat while standing on the train. Not very easy.
I got to the station near my uni, at 1:55pm. Although my uni is located right next to the station, the building where the office was is at the other end of the uni. I sprinted all the way (although I do admit there was one stage where I had to slow down due to the lack of my fitness these days)
I got to the building at the bottome of the building at 2:03pm.
The office is at 6th floor, you have a choice of using a lift or stairs. What would you do?
Personally when you're in extreme rush I'd rather choose running up the stairs.
And this time, it saved my life.. well not my life maybe, but my uni life at least.
I got to the office, puffed and sweaty. Chucked my assignment into the box, and the moment after that (seriuosly less than a second) the door of the office opened and the professor saying (cheerfully) "ok the box is going!" and took them away.
I wouldn't have made it if I waited for the lift.
Ok, so MAYBE I nearly failed a class just because I was too lazy to double check the information. But hey, you have to admit my effort. Gotta admit that I did pretty well.
I did learn a lesson, a very big one.. have to be on top of things all the time...
